Biography
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Gianluca López is a painter whose work explores the tension between vibrancy and stillness. Educated at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes, López developed a language that merges the expressive traditions of Latin American color with a contemporary approach to form and texture.
His canvases often feature bold chromatic contrasts, layered surfaces, and architectural undertones, reflecting both the dynamic energy of Buenos Aires and the quiet spaces he seeks within it. The result is work that feels both restless and contemplative, imbued with a sense of place yet reaching beyond geography.
Exhibited in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, and Madrid, López’s art resonates with collectors who are drawn to pieces that combine cultural identity with modern sophistication. Now based in Barcelona, he continues to expand his practice, exploring how light, shadow, and memory can transform simple forms into powerful visual statements.
