Biography
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and now living in Oxford, Anu Adebayo is a painter whose work is entirely devoted to the gentleness and resilience of nature. Educated in fine art at the University of the Arts London, she developed a practice that celebrates the natural world in all its subtleties—capturing the poetry of plants, trees, skies, rivers, and roots with an intimate, soulful perspective.
Adebayo’s paintings are characterized by soft tones, delicate brushwork, and a meditative presence. Each canvas evokes the rhythms of the earth, from the tender unfolding of leaves to the quiet vastness of landscapes, offering viewers moments of reflection and calm.
Her work is both personal and universal, rooted in her Nigerian heritage, where nature is inseparable from daily life, yet shaped by her experiences in Britain, where she finds new light and atmosphere in familiar forms. Exhibited in London, Manchester, and Lagos, Adebayo’s art speaks to those who find beauty in stillness and strength in the natural world.
Now based in Oxford, she continues to expand her practice, creating works that invite viewers to slow down and reconnect with the quiet truths of nature.
